Remembrance Days: Living History and Colonial Dancing at the Culpeper Museum

The Museum of Culpeper History (803 S. Main St., Culpeper; 540-829-1749) will be hosting other friends of the Germanna Foundation from the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution; Out-of-Time Teachers; and the Society for the Preservation of Culpeper History to enchant and educate you and your family with the wealth of history that has taken place in Germanna Country. Enjoy Colonial and Civil War-era living history with costumed education interpreters from the Sons of the American Revolution and Out-of-Time Teachers at the Museum of Culpeper History. The Burgandine House will host a Revolutionary War tavern experience, and there will be a Civil War encampment on the lawn, with period children's games, and a display of women's life during the Civil War. A Confederate Officers tent, along with a cooking tent and other demonstrations will show camp life of the period. On Saturday, enjoy the Rappahannock Colonial Heritage Society dancers, for two performances of traditional colonial-era dance demonstrations with encouraged audience participation. Performances are at Noon and 2:00pm. On Sunday, the Civil War encampment will continue, and the Museum will open at noon. Website: www.culpepermuseum.com
