Stop by the Germanna Visitor Center's Holiday Open House after your tour
in Culpeper to "discover" the early Germanic history of Culpeper and the
surrounding counties! German-themed refreshments will be served throughout the day. Present your ticket for a special holiday goodie!
German colonists arrived here as early as 1714 on land provided by Lt.
Gov. Alexander Spotswood, and those arriving then and shortly thereafter
are founders of Culpeper's first families: Aylor, Blankenbaker,
Brumback, Clore, Crigler, Fishback, Hanback, Hitt, Hoffman, Holt,
Holtzclaw, Kemper, Coons, Martin, Moyer, Nay, Rector, Spilman, Tanner,
Utterback, Utz, Wayland, Weaver, Wilhoit, Yager, Yowell and many others.

See
www.germanna.org to see if your family is listed!
