The German Embassy (4645 Reservoir Rd. NW, Washington, DC 20007) is hosting an open house on Saturday, May 8, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to celebrate the EU theme "Green Europe: Good for the Economy, Good for the Environment." From the "Moonbounce" to facepainting and more, there will be plenty of activities for kids to enjoy, and plenty for parents as well. Have a delicious light lunch and then sample German fare from local businesses. Expect classic favorites from Bratwurst to Döner. A portion of proceeds from food sales will go to charity. This award is made in recognition of the Germanna Foundation volunteers who keep Old Glory flying over the Brawdus Martin Visitor Center. President Marc Wheat and his son Benjamin will attend to receive the award on behalf of the Germanna Foundation. | ||
