Governor Alexander Spotswood by living historian Dennis Loba, whom you will find in appropriate period attire.  This event only requires your attendance to enhance it and your presence will be welcomed with no fee required. Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, a Germanna/Germantown descendant, would be proud to have you explore the heavens from his ancestral home!

In about 1719, the ancestors of Buzz Aldrin and other members of the first Germanna colony removed from Germanna to a tract called Germantown (in what later became Fauquier County).

At 10:00 AM, meet at the Graffiti House of the Brandy Station Foundation, 19484 Brandy Road, Brandy Station, VA 22714 for a memorable driving tour to give you a deeper sense of the history in Germanna Country. The tour begins with a discussion of the Union river-crossing at Kelly's Ford, and then follows the route of march of the Union cavalry division commanded by Colonel Alfred Napoleon Duffie, a deserter from the French army, to Stevensburg (the Germanna Foundation's Salubria is nearby).
