Donated by the Library of Virginia, the winning bidder will be the proud owner of a brass medallion with an engraving of Pocahontas. It is oval, 4.75" long by 3.5" wide. It is a solid metal piece. Quite substantial. On one side is a portrait of Pocahontas in her Elizabethan clothing. There is Latin around the edges that basically says she is Princess Pocahontas daughter of Powhatan, aka Rebecca. On the reverse, there is engraved: Pocahontas JAMESTOWN SETTLEMENT 2007 JAMESTOWN EXPOSITION 1607-1957 Virginia Metalcrafters. The image to the left is not the medallion but rather the statue of Pocahontas at Jamestown. Interesting note: the designers of the statue put Pocahontas in Plains Indians attire rather than what would have been the less intricate clothing actually worn by Pocahontas.
